Disclosure Policy
Here at Elvis Memorabilia Reviews I review Elvis Memorabilia, Gifts and Collectibles. Usually, these are items that I find while browsing various websites. They may also be products suggested to me by you, my readers. Manufacturers may send me products to review in person – although to be frank, that’s not happened yet. Ever.
In all of the above situations, I review products honestly and without bias. If I think a product is great, I will say so. If I think a product sucks, I will say so. You, my audience, deserve my honesty and that’s important to me.
My opinion is not for sale, and product manufacturers or sellers sending products or submitting products for review understand this. I do not write about a company’s products if they insist on a positive-only review. That doesn’t fly in my book, and it shouldn’t in yours.
If a company physically sends me a product to review instead of a link, I guarantee them that I will cover it in a review. This does not guarantee a positive review. If I am sent a crappy product, I’m going to tell you it sucks and why. I guarantee coverage for products sent to me as an incentive to companies to send me products instead of links – but it in no way guarantees a good review. And no one has done it yet anyway.
Why do I do this? Well of course, I would like to get free products, who wouldn’t. But in all reality, I can offer better quality reviews to you, the audience, when I have a product in front of me rather than trying to review it based only on what I see on the web.. While a picture is worth a thousand words, it cannot compare to being able to tell you what it’s like in reality.
This site also uses affiliate links wherever possible. An affiliate link identifies me or Elvis Memorabilia Reviews as your referrer or source when you buy a product that I’ve written about after clicking on my link. This allows me to generate income to sustain myself and this website by receiving credit for referring customers to product retailers. You’re going to buy an Elvis product if you like it, whether I sent you or not. The retailer just agrees to share a portion of their profit with me as a way of saying “thanks for sending John/Jill/Bob/Insert Your Name Here to us. We appreciate it!” It’s not a backroom, underhanded deal. Just a way to make a living.
That said, I’d like to reiterate that no product will receive a better review just because it’s an affiliate’s product. I don’t work that way. My opinions not for sale, and I’d rather warn you about a bad product or company and have you trust me for that than make a quick buck off of you and have you never trust me again.
The same goes for advertisements. I will be offering ads for sale and I position affiliate ads on the site as a way to generate income. The ads don’t influence what or how well products get reviewed. Just understand that I am paid when you do click on one of them or buy a product.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email me, ian@elvismemorabilareviews.com. I’d be happy to talk about any concerns you might have.
